Information: John Shawe-Taylor is Professor of Computational Statistics and Machine Learning and Director, Centre for Computational Statistics and Machine Learning at UCL. John Shawe-Taylor who is a pioneer of support vector machines and kernel methods leads the Centre. His book on the subject is cited more than 4,500 times. John has coordinated an EU Network of Excellence in Pattern Analysis, Statistical Modelling and Computational Learning (PASCAL) involving 57 international partners and an extension of this network for £1.2M was just granted by the Framework VII programme.
